Permissions define what each role can and cannot do. DishInk ships with predefined role templates and supports custom permission sets for enterprise deployments.

Overview

Permissions are grouped by module. Each permission is a single toggle:
  • POS: create sale, refund, void, apply discount, override price
  • Tables: open, close, transfer, merge
  • Inventory: view, edit stock, purchase orders
  • Reports: view, export, financial detail
  • Staff: view, edit, PIN reset, clock override

Every permission change is logged with the administrator and timestamp for audit.

Tips & best practices

Design custom roles per venue type: “Bar Cashier”, “Head Chef”, “Host”. More granular than built-in roles and portable across branches.

Common mistakes

Do not grant refund or void permissions to standard cashiers. Route these through manager PIN approval instead.
