DishInk runs on standard consumer and commercial hardware. No proprietary devices are required. This page lists minimum, recommended, and enterprise-tier specifications for every part of the platform.

Overview

DishInk is a cloud-based web and mobile application. It works on any modern browser and on Android tablets, phones, and touchscreen POS terminals. Kitchen and receipt printers connect over USB, Bluetooth, or the local network.

Supported devices

Supported browsers

  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari 15+ (macOS and iPad)
Internet Explorer is not supported. Older Android WebView builds (below version 90) may render incorrectly.

Network requirements

DishInk works offline through a three-tier fallback: Cloud → LAN → Local Storage. Orders continue on the local network even without internet, and sync automatically when connectivity is restored.

Printer compatibility

  • Receipt printers — any 58 mm or 80 mm ESC/POS-compatible thermal printer (USB, Bluetooth, or Ethernet)
  • Kitchen printers — Ethernet or WiFi ESC/POS thermal printers
  • QZ Tray — supported for desktop-based print bridging
See Printing for detailed setup.
