# Managing QR Codes

> Create, manage, and download QR codes for every table in your restaurant.

Every table in DishInk gets its own QR code that links customers directly to your digital menu. Go to **Front Operations → QR Codes** to manage them.

## The dashboard at a glance

The top of the page shows a live stats bar with counts across all your tables:

| Stat           | What it means                                  |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Total** | All tables in your account |
| **Standard** | Tables using the basic black-and-white QR code |
| **Premium** | Tables using a branded Premium design |
| **Unassigned** | Premium tables with no design assigned yet |
| **Printed**    | Tables you've marked as printed                |
| **Placed** | Tables you've marked as physically placed |
| **Active** | Tables with their QR code marked as active |

## Adding a table

1. Type the table name in the **Add a New Table** field — e.g. "Table 1", "VIP Booth", "Bar Seat 3"
2. Choose **Standard** or **Premium** style using the toggle
3. Click **Create**

The table appears in the grid immediately with its QR code ready to download.

<Note>
  Premium style is only available if your account has Premium QR enabled. The Premium toggle is disabled otherwise.
</Note>

## Renaming a table

Click the table name on any card to enter rename mode. You can update two fields:

* **Table name** — the full name shown on the QR card and menu page
* **Short label** — an optional abbreviated name (e.g. "T1" instead of "Table 1") used when a design is set to display the short label style

Press **Enter** or click **Save** to confirm. Click **Cancel** to revert.

## Table status toggles

Each table card has three status toggles you can flip independently:

| Toggle              | What it tracks                          |
| ------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Printed** | You have printed the QR code |
| **Placed on Table** | The QR code is physically on the table |
| **Active** | The QR code is live and accepting scans |

These are tracking flags for your own operations — they don't affect whether the QR code works when scanned.

## Downloading a QR code

Click **Download** on any table card to save the QR code as a PNG file. The file is named after your restaurant and table automatically.

For Premium cards, the download includes the full branded design with frame, colors, logo, and any ring text.

<Warning>
  For Premium cards, the Download button is disabled until a design is assigned to the table. Assign a design first, then download.
</Warning>

## Deleting a table

Click the **Delete** (trash) button on the card and confirm the prompt. Deletion is permanent.

## Filtering tables

Use the **All / Standard / Premium** filter above the grid to show only the table type you want to work with.

On multi-location accounts, a **Location** filter also appears. Use it to show tables assigned to a specific branch, unassigned tables, or all tables at once.

## The General Menu QR code

A **General Menu** card appears at the top of the grid when the All filter is active. This QR code links to your menu without a table number — useful for takeaway counters, reception desks, or printed marketing materials.

It supports the same Standard and Premium style options as table cards.

## Tips & best practices

<Tip>
  Use the **Printed** and **Placed** toggles as a checklist when rolling out new tables. Filter by "Unassigned" to find any Premium tables that still need a design before you print.
</Tip>

<Tip>
  Name tables exactly as they appear in your floor plan. The table name is embedded in the QR URL and shown on the KDS and waiter app when orders come in.
</Tip>

## Common mistakes

<Warning>
  Deleting a table removes its QR code permanently. Any printed QR codes for that table will stop working. Create a new table and reprint if you need to restore it.
