# Premium QR Designer

> Create branded QR codes with custom colors, dot styles, frames, logos, and ring text.

The Premium QR Designer lets you create up to 3 saved design templates. Each design can be assigned to any number of tables. When you update a design, all tables using it update automatically.

Go to **Front Operations → QR Codes** and expand the **Premium QR Designer** panel at the top of the page.

<Note>
  The Premium QR Designer is only available on accounts with Premium QR enabled. If your account is on a Starter or Growth plan, the panel shows a locked preview with an upgrade prompt instead.
</Note>

## Design slots

You have 3 design slots. Each slot holds one saved design. The slot indicator at the top of the designer shows filled (amber) dots for used slots and grey dots for empty ones.

You can have up to 3 completely different designs — for example, one for indoor tables, one for outdoor seating, and one for the bar.

## Creating a new design

1. Click any empty slot to expand it
2. Click **Start Designing**
3. Configure the design using the controls on the right
4. Click **Save Design**

The live preview on the left updates in real time as you make changes.

## Editing an existing design

Click the **Edit** (pencil) icon on any filled slot, or expand the slot and click **Edit Design**. Make your changes and click **Save Design**.

<Warning>
  Saving an edited design updates all tables that have that design assigned. Any QR codes already downloaded with the old design will be outdated — re-download them after saving.
</Warning>

## Downloading a design preview

Click the **Download** icon on a filled slot header, or the **Download PNG** button inside the expanded slot, to save the design as a PNG. The filename includes your restaurant name and the slot number.

The download is rendered at full resolution with the live preview settings — what you see is what you get.

## Deleting a design

Click the **Delete** (trash) icon on the slot header and confirm the prompt. Tables that had this design assigned will show as "Unassigned" and revert to showing no preview until you assign a new design.

## Tips & best practices

<Tip>
  Create your main design in Slot 1 first and assign it to most tables. Use Slot 2 or 3 for special areas like the bar or VIP section that need a different look.
</Tip>

<Tip>
  Set a short, action-oriented CTA text. "Scan to Order" and "View Menu" perform better than generic text. Keep it under 20 characters so it fits cleanly in the frame.
</Tip>

<Tip>
  If you're printing on coloured table tents or card stock, enable **Transparent Background** so the QR blends with your material instead of showing a white rectangle.
</Tip>

## Common mistakes

<Warning>
  Do not delete a design slot while tables are still assigned to it. Reassign those tables to another design first, then delete.
</Warning>

<Warning>
  Logo size above 40% can make the QR code harder to scan. Keep it at 35% or below for reliable scanning on all devices.
</Warning>
